Apples and oranges. Tuberville blocked unanimous consent all promotions (so hundreds of people) which would have forced the Senate to spend 3(?) days for each promotion which wasn't feasible. Dems should have blocked unanimous consent on Patel, but then he'd still be confirmed after the 3 days.

Ah, I just assumed that since they hadn't been doing it they didn't do it for Patel. Regardless its a nice delaying tactic and probably gets them some PR, but in the end they had no way to stop him from being confirmed.

But if Dems had denied unanimous consent for every nominee, it might still be another month or more before they could have confirmed Patel, who has promised to turn the FBI into America’s own Stasi. We’re in a fight to preserve our democracy and every inch counts.
