I don’t think excluding them from aid is going to help them or us. In Vietnam, after the US invasion, the people did not care about the politics of the people helping them, only that they were being helped, and they wanted to join the people giving them help. That created a Communist country.

It’s not an either-or situation. Help everyone you can. Provide Mutual Aid with your community. Will there eventually be an issue where you run out of something? Yes. That’s is a temporary issue. It doesn’t mean you purity test every individual to be sure of whom is worthy.

North Vietnam was already communist and allied with China and the Soviet Union. The US controlled the puppet government of South Vietnam. It was a proxy war but also the Viet were trying to reunite their country, which they did.

I think I understand, but the obligations on each of us include trying to remain informed despite the barriers that oligarchs may put up against us (which they always will). “I don’t follow politics” just can’t be the standard. It’s inexcusable in a democracy.
