I remember spending 1000 quid on a 386 pc, for my hnd in computing, and being horrified at the games compared to my amiga. Things got a lot more interesting when I got a 486 with a soundblaster awe 32.
The full 16 colors were available in 160x100. At 320x200, you only got 4 colors out of the 16, and you couldn't mix and match. This has to be 'mode 4, high intensity pallete 1' which is black, white, cyan, and magenta.
