RPG forums are weird.
So often I read the advice of some 'veteran' gamer and wonder if they've ever actually played a RPG before or simply read a bunch of books and imagine what playing and human interaction is like. Or maybe they played a lot on the 80s, haven't since, but claim 40 years experience

I still feel qualified to chime in on things, but I also recognize things have changed a lot, and I was kind of an outlier to begin with. :)
You could be doing something for years but if it's only once a month for 3 hours it's not much vs. 3 hours a week for years.
Its become more of a thought experiment for them, or they just don't like that the hobby has moved past them and they're bitter about it
