2/26: The purpose of this account is not to document every injustice ever. It is solely to document cases in which the US detains someone WITHOUT (credible) lawful authority and WITH apparent political motive. The name mentions disappearances, but actually what I'm documenting is this:

4/26: Why aren't I tracking other things, like detaining someone with *apparent* lawful authority but where it is suspected to be, say, a personal abuse by a lying LEO?

Because I'm one person, you nutbars, and you're not paying me a salary. Tracking all injustice is too large a task.

5/26: I am a bad, hemi-demi-semi-pseudo Jew. I have no family memory of the holocaust and I wasn't "raised jewish". I didn't enter a temple until I was 7, didn't attend more than a couple services until in college, didn't join a shul until much later.

6/26: But I'm Jew enough to have written for the congregation's newsletter and to have written about the life of a holocaust survivor after she passed. I interviewed family. I don't care whether you consider me Jewish, that's not the point. The point is that I am deeply aware of history.

7/26: It wasn't part of my growing up, but I'm aware as an adult how often *not knowing* caused wounds that did not heal. Having seen a number of bad things over the years, including immigration abuses, torturing suspected terrorists, etc., it's important to me to do this right.

One comment: you may need to add PD -> deported, because that's not really the same as released and unfortunately I suspect it'll happen.

Not a bad thought. I'll consider it.

If they do deportation correctly, they are released, of course, just in another jurisdiction. But they can also deliver someone into the custody of another nation, and that is NOT released.

Grr. I'll probably not decide til I have to, but I will think on it.

Yeah, it's complicated. Anyways, I think documenting and publicizing this stuff like you're doing is way more important than getting bogged down in semantics, so please don't expend more brainpower on it than it's worth :)
