I was already limited to just a veggie burger and fries or fried green beans, so it’s not like it was a huge loss, but it’s a place I’d tolerate when friends wanted it and now it’s just out.
How easy do you think it is, in general, to know what restaurants use to fry? I can't think of any signs in places I visit. If this becomes a trend, it's worrisome.
Places with clearly labeled vegan/vegetarian food are less likely to make the change. And just like the “gluten free” stickers on corn tortillas, this “no seed oil” thing is a trend…Sid’s promoted it. So I think fries are largely safe unless a place is bragging otherwise, though when in doubt ask.
