Musk worked his way into the J. Kushner role. Going by how much time he spent with Trump right after the November win, I think he truly believes in his mission (taming the government budget, regulatory state, and something about the woke mind virus). People just happen to get in the way, I guess.

The minions? Some dark stuff. It's all in some kind of project they pretended to distance themselves from during the campaign.
Now, will their gambit work? Of course. Costs will go down, but that's not the point. It's those pesky unintended consequences. They may blunt all those accrued "savings."

Speaking of concerning: Speaker Johnson going on about algorithms. Is he giving cover for Musk? Are these "algorithms" already plugged into people's private data? Are they on air-gapped networks, or in the cloud?

The entire administration is in chaos with no leader doing the business of the country, only DOGE, it seems. There has been no accounting of anything. Money saved, money spent, people laid off, rehired? Even department heads can't answer with any certainty. It will all fall apart if this continues
