A half-dozen years ago I was irate that non-Hispanic anglo historians like Trevor Burnard could talk about American Planters' worry over Lord Mansfield's anti-slavery decision in the 1772 Somerset case, but rejected two dozen Black artists in the NYT 1619 Project.
