I guess its because they fear that the people they hate and look down on might have power over them somehow. Even if its not true the actual fear is real. I suspect a lot of it goes back to a fear of slaves being freed, gathering in strength and getting revenge.
IMO, White People [WASP], have been in control of USA since its Formation and have Generally done an Abysmal Job. Now, for the 1st time THEY are the Minority, and it Scares the crap out of them that they may be treated the Same Way, if not worse, than they treated Minorities when They Had Control
America has always been a Big Believer in Eugenics and Never really stopped Research on it, even after it was Debunked. Old Eugenics Research still pops up sporadically. Especially now with trump's Propaganda Minister [Steven Miller] back in control.
"White" people aren't afraid of that. Racists who happen to be "white," as "white supremacists," are afraid of that. Not all "white" people are racists. As far as I'm concerned, "race" is not a thing, and Americans can be of whatever ancestry, background, culture, genetic makeup, they happen to be.
But I take your point, in the USA, a great many "white" people especially of the conservative, Republican persuasion are also, in fact, racists, I suppose mostly because of their egoism, hubris, and deep and abiding love for themselves.
This demographic change has been misunderstood and misrepresented for years. It means they won't outnumber every other ethnicity COMBINED. They'll continue to be the largest group for the foreseeable future. Probably outlasting western civilization at the rate things are going.
Most racist whites are not funny enough to get laid or keep a spouse so it’s really just harbored resentful for something that is completely their fault 😂😂😂
