They didn’t though really. They fought the oppression from the wrong people. The concept of the oppression itself has never really been a problem. Sure, the timing is weird when in the late 40s colonialism was hugely in decline, but not sure there was any ideological shift from those in power.

No, unfortunately. Living in The Netherlands, that has been difficult. I am happy enough I can get BBC 1+2 sometimes on our extended tv packages.
I had more access to the BBC when we still had an antenna on the roof. Sure, not very good reception, but I could at least get it easily.
