Of course the harsh organs of Israel's central government are part of this story: the Prime Minister's office, the High Court, the police, but some of the most demoralizing excerpts are those related to the more local and personal forms of callousness shown toward his family in the school system.

The Israeli state has never recognized Bedouin land ownership. But yes, there is a lot in the piece about how both repressive forces associated with the state and perhaps well-meaning but counterproductive “allies” on the left have problematically conditioned indigeneity to nomadism.
