No, seriously, I use YT's auto translate for Japanese videos now and then (mostly for vlogs without any text) and it's borderline unusable. It can barely tell what people are saying, and definitely doesn't know the context, so you get a ton of misinformation. In the end, you have to do way more work

No, absolutely not. Auto translations are utter shite and don’t actually translate the things people say. I don’t mean “ they just do it literally” no they don’t do it at all , the can’t handle Japanese things like grammar and aubject/ object omissions at all.
