Yup. If there is not a call for a boycott from the public, the striking workers most likely are NOT hoping that ppl will choose another company. They are trying to show their worth TO the company they Currently work for!
Right?! They're not necessarily trying to punish the company at all. Sometimes, if things escalate to a certain point, they might get there. But again, what they're asking of the public to do is key to knowing what they want in that regard.
My friend, Yousef, needs help escaping Gaza. Donations are needed but if you cannot donate please repost the post on my page. We are very close to our goal.
exactly; socialism is more popular in the west than it's been since maybe the 1960s. getting more people would be good, but if we don't make use of our current numbers then what's the point?
There was a postal strike here recently and when i heard and mail stopped coming in i was just like “damn, i hope they get the increased compensation theyre looking for”
And then around a month or so later the federal government forced them all back to work
Like, it helps if the public is on their side, but ultimately, yeag, the point is to disrupt the business so they'll negotiate just to get things running again. Labor organizing should be taught in schools, it never will be, but still.
As long as they are disruptive in the right ways to the right folks. Every normal person knows that the 9 to 5 wager dont have the patience to be gentle cause they trying to not be homeless by any means necessary. Getting in their way is dangerous cause they truly dont care anymore.
I mean, in all honesty peaceful protests Can work, when they are an introductory step, and not the goal, like "we mobilized this many people, and we Are planning to fuck shit up..."
but when the (peaceful) protest is the goal, then nobody changes anything, because nobody feels threatened to
You can still be successful with peaceful protests, they just need to be inconvenient or cause disruption. Sit-ins & hunger strikes do work sometimes. That being said, in most cases, "fuck shit up"is the only way
People get this all fucked up. It's the same with the JustStopOil people. You hear people say "They won't get anyone on their side that way!" They don't want you on "their side" they want you to open your fucking eyes!
"they disrupted my Formula One event that I paid over $1,000 to attend to watch fuel burning vehicles pollute the environment for my entertainment and even if they lose the drivers still make millions every week!"
eSports racing exists, and the beauty of that is that can be done with a LAN network, about 20 or so gaming computers, sim rigs and rent out a hockey arena..oh wait....Fortnite World Champs does this
I saw a video of protesters blocking roads for Palestine. The Insta comments said, "this won't get anybody on your side".
My next thought was: if the images of slaughtered and dismembered children wasn't enough to get them on our side, then obviously we are not protesting to get them on our side

Someone who loves throwing hot coffee in a person’s face doesn’t need a conversation about why that’s bad, they need the cup taken from their hand.
Eventually, you gotta use all that growth to, you know... Do stuff.
We're not an algorithm.
"Too many people think that a strike should be held in the woods."
"They are hoping that people will choose another company"
No they want Amazon to recognize their fucking union! That's the whole point of the strike!!
Amazon refuses to recognize that their workers voted to unionize
"We're striking so you will chose another company so our company loses money and has to lay us all off!!"
There's no damn logic in this!!
That's just quitting with extra steps

Am I Correct? :)
