this was distributed in the 90s internet and displayed on a small CRT screen so obvi it was more obscured in the 90s. its crazy how much more effort needs to be put into doing fake leaks like this to account for the crazy resolutions we have today!

'l is real 2401' was just an unconfirmed theory that everyone (myself included) just believed to be true and real hshsshd. it apparently says 'eternal star'. i had no idea.
Nooo, its 2401 because it was 24 years and 01 month after the game launch that the big nintendo leak would reveal Luigis actual model, it was a prophecy, I believe it
Peeps on the GameFAQs forums (a wretched hive of scum and villainy) swore up and down that "2401" was February 2, 2001, foreshadowing the release of Paper Mario, which has Luigi. Except Paper Mario came out in August 2000 in Japan
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE DAY FUCKING ONE BUT EVERYONE HAS BEEN SCREAMING AT ME CALLING ME A LIAR AND A PEICE OF SHIT FOR BEING ABLE TO FUCKING READ.
I never understood how anyone could see anything other thsn Eternal Star.
I've thought the Eternal Star thing for a minute but got initially confused by someone positing the theory that it wasn't even English script. Seeing the script side by side though it's very clear.
Shout-out to the sm64 site that immediately scuttled the theory in my preschool mind by showing the same art as the plaque for a general message stone in OoT
I remember holding up a magnifying glass to my monitor waaay back in the day because I thought it would help me see how to get Links white tunic in Oot from those cool screen shots

The third "word" looks exactly like "code" in katakana (コード)
It's probably random Japanese text copy and pasted onto a texture. Occram's razor and what not.
My Bets Are That The Leak's Release Was Timed To Reference The Rumour.
Also why are you capitalizing every word?
