What is your opinion of the idea that working with the goddess Lilith is a closed practice? I’ve seen some people vehemently say that it is, and some people disagree heavily. I’m just curious what people’s takes are. #witchsky

I'm not Jewish but how could a Jewish witch say its a closed practice when Lilith isn't even mentioned in the Torah? She first appeared in a Mesopotamian poem.
She is mentioned in the #Zohar quite a bit I’m still learning everyday so I don’t speak for other’s experiences but yes as long as you approach with love and are genuine treat them well always build the relationship 1st before asking for anything it’s hard to get good info but this has been quite gd
I’ve never seen someone mention the Torah in their argument. I think some people don’t look up her origins or research her extensively, so they take what some people say for face value, and then just regurgitate talking points.
I think if she calls to you, that you would be a fool not to answer.
Who is saying it’s a closed practice? What minority or marginalized people does she “belong” to? Because Lilith would probably like a word, and I think she would be OUTRAGED at someone claiming her as theirs. 🤷🏻♀️🙄
Some people say that she is Judaic in origin and so by worshipping her as a goddess when you’re not Jewish is ‘bastardizing and tainting the image of a demon in Judaism.’ They say that if you’re Jewish and want to you can, but Judaism is a closed practice so anyone outside cannot.
I think some people forget that, but I think them arguing it just ends up confusing people. Personally I believe she’s Mesopotamian in origin anyway so it’s a moot point, but some people get very upset if you disagree with them.
Well, most Jewish people who practice Judaism aren’t going to accuse you of appropriating Lilith - they are going to wonder why you are practicing the Craft first. 🤣
Only weird Karen like witches are going to come at you for that. I say fuck’em
To me, it’s like the difference between religion and spirituality. Religions have gates to keep. But your relationship to the Divine is uniquely your own.
Lilith mythology is about rejecting traditions, embracing the unknown, a goddess of freedom. It is only thru slander and lies we hear about her. So I’d take a page from Lilith and flee from those who tell you what you “must” do. Ya you might end up in the desert but the demon sex can be liberating.
I would disagree I’m eclectic and I’ve had no trouble working with Lilith at all she’s been such a blessing to me personally but that’s just my 2 cents 🖤✨😊🙏🏼
She is not part of a closed practice. Even if you look at it from an abrahamic religious standpoint, they're not closed practices. If she was an indigenous deity then that would be closed, but she isn't. :)

If you believe a god real then it is the god who decides their own acolyte. Mortals that interfere invite miasma and wrath.
So what say you? Is a god property?
If a Goddess like Lilith is calling you, you should answer. Generally, they don't call people who don't deserve it.
For me it was the Morrigan. Listen when "scary" entities call.
