Without empathy, AI risks becoming a blunt hatchet like Elon’s chainsaw. It will optimize for speed, profit, engagement, or whatever it's told to maximize—without concern for who gets left behind, harmed, or dehumanized in the process. I have thoughts on why we need empathetic robots.
