It is so beautiful, so wonderful, so pure to see the Syrians who we have been so lucky to call our neighbours & friends during their exile speak of return & being reunited β€οΈβ€οΈ
Syrians across Europe are finally dreaming they will see their home again, a hope so many had lost through the yearsπ

We loved each destination for their different exploration options.
But it can also be for Europeans to reflect on what it has meant to be a place of safety. What it can mean that free Syrians will now have ties forever among usβ€οΈ
Some of you might follow me since those days of boats crossing the sea to Greek islands.
Iβve seen both the best & the worst of Europe & Europeans be shown in the face of the arrival of these people.
Let anyone who tells you refugees want anything other than to return home be SILENT now.
No one gets onto one of those boats & leaves their home unless their home has become the mouth of a shark.
No one chooses exile.
No one risks it all if they could have stayed.
Not a particularly happy thing to think about - however something to remember at this time of year
Can't imagine why people wanted to flee!
Reflect on how you still judge others who are escaping danger.
Reflect on how beautiful it is that we can be a place of safety until homelands are freeβ€οΈ
You're a bloody superhero. β€οΈπͺπΌπ₯³
But I doubt what is replacing the last regime is going to be any better
I hope he has an opportunity to return to his home country now and if he does I really hope he thrives
Celebrating a short sighted sense of success meanwhile actual Syrians are still fucked regardless whether it's Assad or al-Qaeda and ISIS rebels being funded by the west.
For syrians they've just replaced a bad regime with a slightly less bad regime. They're still fucked.
Let's hope the Home Office also takes their lead from ordinary Syrians and respects their decision on if and when they feel they might be able to return to their home.
Finally, I can call myself Syrian.
Not a Syrian refugee.

holy fuck the cognitive dissonance is mind-numbing
Very best wishes to all of them, as they navigate the transition.
