I think it's due to the fact that uploading to YouTube is accessible whereas making your own website is still more difficult/expensive.

True but even if that never happens that information is so much harder to access. It doesnt show up on search engines, I have to go out of my way to remember to join a discord and comb through the channels to look for it

It probably is available in text on some website, but I totally agree on YouTube. Many people who don’t like to read much think oh, it’ll be quicker to just watch a video, when as you say, there’s a 10 minute video to just tell you the three best vitamins for whatever. One sentence would suffice.

Agreed. I like YouTube, but I'll see a video on something interesting that I know is simple, and it's 44 minutes. Thanks anyway.
The other peeve is when something is advertised in the title, and then omitted in the actual video.
