One of my personal struggles is letting people pretend like spring training are real games without commenting. I am working on this. But also I am right. It’s practice. Fun practice, but it is practice.

Possibly related: my struggle when people talk about battles for roster spots, or especially starting jobs, or as if spring training stats are a reliable indication of the regular season to come. I mean, I'll still feel a glow if a pitcher has a 22/2 K/BB ratio, but that's it.
That makes more sense to me than thinking the games matter. But I'm still meh about it. A lot of players have said they are not trying to win during ST but trying to work on things. So sometimes they are deliberately responding in ways they wouldn't in a game.
There was a ST game where Zack Greinke gave up a ton of hits and walks and then after the game he said he wanted to work on his pickoff moves so he was doing it on purpose
If the Mets aren't flying the Grapefruit League banner at home opener then the season is already over for me and if Juan Soto doesn't have a spring OPS of over 1.100 then he should be cut immediately
I've been waiting all winter to be made furious and red faced by my leisure time, I must make the most of it. Upon the event of Pete Alonso's first strikeout looking, I will spontaneously combust
I hear you. There are consequences for the kids which is why my interest changes in the latter innings. I really like seeing the tweeners work really hard & take it seriously.

Well no…
Glad he walked off, but scary as hell. Hope they watch him closely and that he's OK
Shhh… don’t tell anyone 🤫 especially not the players
Everyone just ignore that previous message, go about your life as usual. Of course sports games are real and super meaningful.
And I fail.

It’s when both teams wear the exact same color. Like Red Sox vs. Phillies, Cardinals.
This almost never happens in the regular season and the regular uniforms usually have enough accents to differentiate anyway.
