I always thought he was just as beloved as Cyndaquil, but if people dislike him this much, good. I love the idea of three starters no one likes as your choices.
There are so few starters that are bad imo, most of them are cool, but still crazy that people would hate on totodile specificly. The other 2 are also nice, just not my favorites
Yeah, if they wanted a less popular water starter any of the ones from Gens 7-9 work. I'm ehh, on Chikorita, and I like Tepig a lot, so it's tough between Tepig and Totodile.
