Labour will not back down on this. Its a tax on the wealthy. Yes farmers are hard done by, but why aren’t they talking about the extra 5 billion the government are spending to support farmers?
It’s about the very big estates and rich tax dodgers using their influence to compel the gullible and foolish into thinking they are victims and are being persecuted, rather than paying their fair share
I drink in a country pub, and in my experience there are two types of farmers; 'tweed' land owner farmers and the poorer 'mucky overall' farmers. Unfortunately some of the poorer farmers, who may 'own' their farm but work 70 hours a week to sell milk to Tesco at 5p/Ltr are getting caught up in this
That shows it's been badly set up or communicated for sure. I wouldn't put it past the Tweed to threaten the Mucky with the end of their tenancy if they don't join in the protests
Several people have said that the farmers haven't got time to plan for these changes...but these people weren't bothered about the more numerous WASPI women who suddenly had to work for an extra 5 years!
Funny how the press hasn't mentioned nationalisation of the farms, yet these brave bastions of feeding cattle back to themselves want to come running to the left and the withdrawal of their labour. So we have zombie flesh eating cattle and zombie tax evading landowners.. what 's the world coming to?
They couldn't spend that money in several lifetimes why not just pay the tax but they don't even pay what's due its squirrel away in tax havens shrouds have no pockets

But yes, bad farmers...

Msm reports on the British Pubs Crisis NEVER identifies Rentier pubcos as the primary cause of the British Pubs Crisis
Before everything else pubs close due to Rentier pubcos abusing power over tenants
