Part of the issue is that Badenoch has no sense of shame and is unprepared to willingly fall on her sword.

Much of our system is built on the assumption that people will behave honestly and do the decent thing, and that assumption has been challenged in recent years by people who respond "make me".

She guessed the password; she didn't even use any Comp-Sci skills to accomplish the crime, even though it was undoubtedly a Wordpress website and there are doubtless instructions on how to brute force the password (stored in encrypted form in a MySQL table).

From what I can gather, there was no HTACCESS protection at all. Badenoch simply edited some files in her browser. I am not sure that even constitutes a hack.

I am struggling to see how hacking into your political opponent's computer system, emails, or whatever, is not a crime. If it is not, then the law needs to change.

It makes no difference. Starmer has campaigned on a holier than thou policy, so any indiscretions within the party will be jumped on by the right wing media & that takes the focus away from the great work they’re doing.
