Tony Benn was the Corbyn of his time and they ridiculed and gaslighted him too. Made out he was a total nutter.
He wasn't. He was extremely astute and very empathetic.

In fairness, some of my "betters" allowed the then monarch to shag their wife / son / daughter / dog (delete as applicable) & were given acres of land by way of remuneration.
