I'm no fan of Farage, but I feel you're wrong on this. We'd rightly be worried if things were being thrown at left wing politicians, say Corbyn. The same standard applies for right wing politicians, no matter how repugnant.

She should have served jail time. Plain and simple.

I think there are two things here that aren't mutually exclusive. It's possible to a) think whomever threw a milkshake should be appropriately reprimanded (whether that means prison or something else) and b) still find it funny, think Farage is a twat and revel in his tears :)
