Children aren't born romantics. In fact, they're born thinking dialectically and that gift is stolen from them by liberals who do romanticize a world they understand as a collection of fixed objects without seeing all the relationships between them.
Truth!!
When I was out of college & starting my first professional job, I suppose I was too altruistically naive... it was the late 1970s, & the Civil Rights legislation was only a decade+ old. I taught in what was the segregated Black school, desegregated just 2 yrs before.
I thought the world 2)
2) was making great progress & I hoped that by the time I was my parent's age, we'd live in an intelligent, better World.
Now I'm past their age a bit, & see we are wrenching backwards- to an era before Civil Rights. Being forced to do so.
Tragic.
Simply Tragic & Disgusting.
"...an overwhelming number of key contemporary leadersin the US military" believe WWII wasn't won by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but had essentially already been won at this point.

However, needs to read JRTolkien 😉
As it was just post war the propaganda was that “we” won because “we” were right.
And really it was just having superior armaments.
Including the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
But not because “we” were right

They forget or don’t care to remember the Japanese and American casualty estimates for the planned invasion of the home islands.
