You know that social care was privatised years and years ago?
Old folks homes were fun back in the council days, knees-up, pie and peas suppers, sing songs from local transvestite. Anyway, by the time my gran went into one it was dry sammies and utter boredom
I worked for a private company supplying and repairing wheelchairs. They cut corners, delayed repairs by not ordering parts. They paid minimum and small pension.
It can not be cheaper as they have shareholders to pay.
You’d be shocked at how much money is spent by trust directors on ‘partnerships’ with organisations that they receive benefits from. The money is there, it’s just constantly misspent!
You could live in the US, where up until recently a cancer diagnosis could see your insurance company dropping you like a hot potato. Or dying 100’s of thousands in debt. Or forgoing treatment due to cost. Yea. Lovely here
So you are on NHS 6 month waiting list for operation, in pain. Under new rules, using private facilities, forwarded to 1 month. Will cost you nothing. Are you going to refuse for your principles? Once waiting lists down it will be solely NHS.
I agree with you sentiment 100% but this could take a decade or more to achieve unless the public at large has the appetite for significant spending on capital & training. Sadly they've been convinced that lower taxes (regardless of who benefits most) is much more important than a thriving economy.
I have a medical ATM.
How the government delivers it doesn't bother me as long as it's as quick as possible.
I'd prefer an NHS hospital all day, but if they send me to a private hospital, that's ok too. As long as I get better
100% of MY Money?.. I'd like to have some left over for Food, Rent, and the like.
But I'd rather the Government spent my TAX money on health care than Killing
How much to basically End Poverty (A whole lot)
How much does the military spend Every week (About the Same amount).
Brit in US here. Been with my company for a decade. Just got a great raise. It was completely wiped out with our new healthcare costs. Same plan as last year except now I’ll have $100 less per paycheck this year. An absolute rip-off.
I’m afraid the horse has already bolted ! The NHS has been decimated and sold off for decades under the Tories, particularly when Jeremy *unt was health secretary. I still love it and it needs saving.

Yes
I understand it can't all be done at once but a strategy by which to do this is what we need
The only motive is profit. Anything else is BS designed to sneak this through.
