They're losing out on profits from alternative energy, so it's obvious that its really only about trying to get a "win" over dems. Solar with battery storage currently is a rough LCOE match with natural gas, the lowest cost fossil fuel, but unlike natural gas it is on a steep cost decline trend & soon will outcompete all other sources of energy production.
