I would like to see that out-of-hours shit shut down anyway. It's exploitative and never happened when I worked in an office, although, to be fair, I sometimes did 70 weeks, so even more important that my time was my time.
People should follow this example. Incidentally, despite what management might think, working from home is more productive than office based, generally speaking. Having worked beside some world class skivers, they hated WFH, no place to hide…..
For years, bosses have been exploiting the goodwill of employees by contacting them out-of-hours. Obviously , there are emergencies, but if it's that important, then the worker should be due an additional payment and also recompensed if they agree to take on out-of-hours work, at a premium rate.
