I was sent this map without a source but I thought it was impressive nonetheless. It shows the SeaWorld parking lot in yellow. The green dot is where Orcas spend their lives.

I have seen and walked around that parking lot. It would be smaller if it had several levels, more 3d than 2d - like all aquariums.
More importantly, I have fed animals there for a day. Prepared and distributed fish. Talked with the workers - and I can tell, that they care about the inhabitants.
Sure they care. But orcas are not "designed" to live in such a constricted space. Imagine yourself living in 10 square meters for years, but your guardians take care of you. Still inhuman treatment.
They bloody well should. Orcas in the wild cross distances of over 100 km per day and dive 30 meters deep. A glorified swimmingpool doesn't even begin to compare, however much the caretakers care.
Although you are right about the crazy difference, the orcas have little more space than the green dot only. This is San Diego btw. Thanks to the original article posted here too.
I understand this is about Anamals that should be in the wild but does it have a train station at all? Public transport would be a much better way to go rather than car parks that large
