WaPo reporting that federal employees can quit now and be paid through the end of September. I don’t begrudge anyone doing what they need to do, but I hope people considering this understand that 1) gutting the federal workforce is bad for everyone, and 2) you’re not actually going to get that money - ThreadSky

Which is weird because the order is "you can work from home and get paid through September" end of fiscal calendar, since pay is budgeted and "spent" already.

Not a payout. Its a way to get employees to out their intentions, so via hostile work environment and write ups, they'll get cut anyway.

They're going to get hit hard on their 2025 taxes as well especially if they get severance and are allowed to collect unemployment. Not in Gov't but took a package in 2018. Got both severance and UI. I paid the Feds just north of $500 that year. Anyone considering this needs to speak to a lawyer 1st
