There’s a great episode of Derry Girls where the kids get picked up by the cops and they bring Colm in as the responsible adult so he drones on until the police get sick of dealing with him. Seems like a perfect tactic.
He reminds me of my mother. Her brain has no editor so you get the most useless details. When she’s just reminiscing it runs tediously long, but when it’s an informational conversation it’s extremely frustrating. You have to focus with vigilance to get the detail needle in a verbose haystack.
