If you've never watched Extraordinary the first two minutes of season 1 episode 1 will give you everything you need to decide if you'll like the rest of the show - amazing example of world building and character introduction in a single short scene
But the ending is such a cliffhanger that it bloody sucks we now won't get a resolution. Should be a law they get funding to at least film a happy rescue! π
I was expecting season 3 in the next month or two, and I'm now looking around to see if ITV, who sort of were involved, were still ... doing ... (handwaving) ... something?
Both shows were good, but notably neither were
American. Got to make room in the schedule for Bald Eagle and his Desert Eagles a show about a bird of prey with guns on its feet.
I loved Extraordinary! Gutted it's not coming back for a 3rd season, but again, it's Disney (same people who have overdone everything star wars and marvel)!
The books were superb. I thought the series were OK but didn't quite hit the magic adventures of the written word. Not many do, Game of Thrones did, for me anyway.
Dissolution, commonplace for many a series starting point, is probably the weakest of the Shardlake novels as the pieces aren't all quite in place, but the series only got better & better as it went on. Damn shame we won't get to see the others.
One of my favorite book series; loved the show and agreeβ¦books 1 and 2 were okay and then they exploded with awesomeness and amazing stories / mysteries. Shame.

It's SO good that the ending should not put anyone off from watching it - the characters are delightful throughout
But that will only put incentives to studios to write bad endings or never state something is cancelled but let it in limbo.
