The promotional material for The Sims 4 Get to Work has four main characters:
- Scrubs De Reve as a doctor
- Naomi Foye as a retailer
- George L'Ernitage as a scientist
- Sierra Moss as a detective

So that's one sim for each Get to Work career.

When Get to Work was released Maxis put a house called LEVELS on the gallery.

The house has 3 bedrooms:
- Single bed and items from the science career
- Single bed and items from the doctors career
- Double bed and items from the detective career and fashion items

At the time, the only same-sex couples we've seen in promotional material for The Sims 4 were in this render.

There had yet not been any pre-made same-sex couples in the actual game. While Armand and Björn are in this render, they're on the gallery, not in-game pre-mades.

It was a different time, and even though same-sex relationships have been present in The Sims ever since The Sims 1, it still wasn't very prevalent in marketing and in the game, because of it, sadly, being seen as controversial.

But Sierra and Naomi have appeared together in other promotional materials, for example in the The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff Pack trailer, where they're seen having a get together with Bob and Eliza (a couple), and Babs and Ollie (also a couple).

So, I think Sierra and Naomi were supposed to be couple, but they couldn't be an official couple at the time when they appeared in promotional materials.
