Yeah this is a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation. Morally the right decision would be to bail in order to PROTECT YOUR WORK from being used by a fucking douchnozzle and his garbage AI, I am wanting to support these people but also gotta respect their choice’s /decision’s

thanks for having respectful discussions about it, i really didn't want the takeaway to be excusing twitter as a platform and being complacent. but that we should be active in supporting artists if they want to move or are questioning it.

Most artists and creatives in general are dying to get their work seen and stay on social media bc they get screwed no matter what, and the amount of times they ask for help and it’s crickets is demotivating for them.

Twitter sucks, El*n is evil but artists need to stay afloat somehow.

I think right now it's more an issue of artistic integrity as well... x isn't being shy about using any art uploaded onto it being openly stolen or mixed/fed into AI. So staying there now is just...contributing to the downfall of art under the guise of staying successful...

Like it sucks and I understand it but it's a hypocritical stance too, saying it's for your own good while contributing to ai. It's an INCREDIBLY bad situation, but imo the best move is to start building an audience elsewhere asap.

it's really important to diversify social media, but not every platform does well and not everyone's moved here yet.

That's why I want the takeaway to be that if we are going to implore creatives to move that we will support them where we can because they will be demotivated to move otherwise especially while they need to make their livelihoods.

For sure, I would cut Twitter in a heartbeat if I could but not even all my friends online are on BSky and it's gotten me some business connections. It's horrible that it's owned by a n*zi and fed to AI training, but realistically people can't just move off immediately.

thank you, and i completely understand the concern with AI as well being used on IG and twitter. It's really unfair for artists and they are put in impossible situations. I hope genuinely we can move off twitter completely but it's not realistic for everyone right now.

The big reason for artists to get off Twitter is because their work is being used to train AI. If someone decides that isn't important to them and they want to stay on Twitter, so be it. That's the choice they get to make for themselves.

for sure, i hope they take time to at least poison or glaze their art. it's a personal decision especially if ppl can't let go of the following they have on twitter bc not everyone will transfer over to other platforms.

i believe IG is having the same problem, it really sucks all around.

Yea, Meta and Twitter are both owned by crappy people. But if that's where someone's main audience is, it will take time for them to move elsewhere and basically start over again.

Yeah, that's why I feel bad for artists bc they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. There are good ppl on the platforms but AI and having it spread hateful rhetoric ruins it for everyone. It takes time to rebuild since followings don't always transfer over.

Yeah, as much as I badly want certain artists to make the jump here already, Bluesky has still a ways to go. For example, still waiting on encryption, and video/image support for DMs. Plus, because it's not as big as Twitter yet, support won't be as big here and that's kinda critical right now.

totally get needing to get ur name out there...on the other hand, I'm actively trying to avoid my work being used for AI so I don't post it on Twitter, Instagram or FB anymore (Instagram i legit put low resolution SSs in stories only LOL or videos) but some artists don't feel the same & that's ok ✔️

But I also know first hand how impossible it feels to move an audience once u r established somewhere. So keeping the main & working on backups until you can fully move over id what a lot of artists have to do to get seen & bills paid.

I totally wish we could all collectively move to Bsky, the AI training is horrible and I hate that these platforms are owned by or catered to hateful and cruel people.

It’s really unfair to artists, they are in such an impossible situation and it’s the fault of the ppl who own the platforms 😩
