4.) Submerge WP burns in **COLD** water.
5.) Further remove embedded WP by use of COLD wet gauze or cloth pressed against the wound site for 5 minutes.
6. WP sites should be aggressively* irrigated/flushed with cold water

WP dressings must be kept wet. If they dry out, any remaining WP can ignite them.
WP has a secondary injury mechanism due to the phos component. Phos can be absorbed systemically which increases serum phosphate levels and drastically decreases serum Ca++
Delayed s/sx:
Cramping
Tetany
Bone/joint pain
Cardiac arrhythmia
Organ failure
