You see all these protests, you see all the protesters getting media coverage, but you hear literally nothing at all about people like me who are opening and trying to maintain lines of communication with the people in positions of power that can solve the problems.
But I take it a step further. I write letters to the leaders of countries that have already solved the problems people are protesting about, and I try to get as much information from them about how they solved the problem, then I work with my own elected officials to try to solve the problems.
And yet, the protesters dare to criminalize me and label me as "part of the problem" because I am not out protesting. Of course I am not out protesting. I'm actually working to solve the problem, something you loud and obnoxious nitwits know nothing about.
I already know both are valid. I speak from how other people have treated me because I am not out protesting. My pen and paper are my tools of protest and my tools of problem solving. But for a lot of protesters I have encountered, the only thing that matters to them is protesting.
Its ok to feel upset and unseen. Whats important is that you know your activism, and you *are* doing important work. I think of protestors as the front lines, the ones who are seen the most. Our activism lies behind the scenes, and I'd argue it being not as visible grants us some amount of safety.
what the fuck does that have to do with me hating my fucking city? can you step off for a second and stop projecting your own frustrations on some shit you have 0 context on? thanks
Well, given the common theme when it comes to politics is all the protesting going on, since you weren't specific in why you hate your city, that's partially your fault.
