Private Equity bought JoAnn in a leveraged buyout in 2011 loading the company with debt. They then mismanaged the company driving it into the ground while PE firm raked in millions. They didn't even have a permanent CEO for the past 1.5 years.
My mom worked part time at one for a bit of added income to her SS. She got out when the mismanagement was just too much to take. Managers have unrealistic goals and expectations, inadequate staff that isn't trained, stores are a mess. It's horrific, and owners don't give a damn.
I went to mine last night and was SHOCKED at how much stock they have! Literally every aisle had hundreds of brand new fabrics stacked on the top shelves. And boxes of yarn everywhere. The warehouses must be loading ‘em up to get rid of it all. 🥲🥲🥲
from what I hear, Indiana Jones is necessary for properly shutting down Hobby Lobby. Dr. Mantis Toboggan might also be a second choice, assuming he's able to make it out of hiding.
