I feel like there is so much sekrit lore in the leve quests, which makes me feel like I need to do more of them and actually *read them* when I do them instead of just "yes, yes, whatever, just give me the XP kthxbye".

There really is! Leves are usually a goldmine for hidden lore nuggets, even the combat ones have some interesting details too (even though we don't get those anymore orz).
