Yes I always advise against cursing or insulting cops in this situation in part bc any engagement can lead to you getting drawn into a conversation. State you are invoking a fifth. Demand lawyer. Cease talking.

I also meant in the sense that there are some cases where 'silence = pleading the 5th' but to be safe always verbalize, but yes, try not to piss off the people with the ability to make your life a lot worse. Its not complying, its simply stating your rights, firmly but respectfully
The 5th applies to testimonial evidence so you don't incriminate yourself.
Idk the law on this, but there might be grounds for pigs to demand verbal compliance with an investigation. So if you saw someone shoot someone, you might have to tell them what you seen, even if you're an asshole about it

But for those willing to take the risk to excerice our first amendment rights, don't forget to insult the pigs or make fun of them.
People underestimate how much something as childish as mocking a pig, gets to them. I would know, I got my lip busted and won a lawsuit.
I'm guessing it just helps out in court.
You can never be punished for pleading the 5th (depending, speak to a lawyer)
But you can be punished for not speaking.
So always say it

Because quite frankly fuck the police.
If a police officer asked you a question, you are free to walk away or say nothing.
If you are under arrest, you are free to plead the 5th.
