I don't know how anyone in a post-Trump v. US world can think that any approach or stratagem would have resulted with Trump convicted on Federal charges.

I think Garland should have moved faster on good government grounds, but the SC was never going to let him be convicted.

Never said "Why try". I think Garland should have moved faster for good government reasons.

But I'm under no illusions that the Supreme Court would have let him be convicted. To imagine otherwise is to miss the magnitude of what we're facing.
