The Separation of Powers is closer to a handshake deal than etched in stone. It is fragile and depends on the 3 branches following it.

The reason he is transferring so many civil lawyers in the Justice Dept. is to try to get them to quit. His last term, when he tried to implement multiple policies that were illegal, they refused to do it. So now, he will replace them with people who will & we may never know the depth of it all.

that's actually sort of a good example for what we need to do IMO. If they're going to be shitty (ignore the 14th) make them take all the steps all the way. Force them to litigate it in front of the supreme court and make SCOTUS have to find a way to twist things to make it ok. make it arduous

every day they have to deal with bureaucratic bullshit is a day they don't spend doing what they want. every hearing, every lawsuit, every appeal, gives them less time to accomplish their aims. in a very real way it doesn't matter if we're successful, it's about wasting their time to slow them down.

Edited to add: this is going to be systemic as Trump et al have already removed or reduced guardrails for themselves, the police, and potentially/likely the military.
