As of today, we have 50 articles available, on topics from Affective Neuroscience to Word Learning, many written by the world's experts on these topics. I've read all 50 and learned a tremendous amount from them.
OECS is a collaboration with co-editor in chief Asifa Majid
and managing editor Heidi Baumgartner. We also have a great team of section editors including Adrian Alsmith, Clark Barrett, Marina Bedny, Tom Griffiths, Daniel Haun, Evan Kidd, Colin Klein, Jim Rehg, and Frédérique de Vignemont.
Each OECS article is in a structured format, ending with curated links to further readings. Because they are free, permissively licensed, and written to be accessible to non-specialists, we hope that these become a valuable resource for teaching.
ur hope is that OECS includes both classic cogsci topics and cutting edge articles. As an example, Melanie Mitchell wrote a fabulous explainer on LLMs that gives a clear and balanced take on this tricky topic. https://oecs.mit.edu/pub/zp5n8ivs
