From birth, traits we can’t control are assigned value. We’re told they define our worth. But who decided this?
These hierarchies aren’t facts—they’re constructed, enforced, and perpetuated by systems (media, capitalism, patriarchy, etc.) that profit from our insecurities.
To be clear - beliefs about sexuality & gender are upheld by different systems than those that uphold body standards - & the consequences for defying them are not the same.
That said, the skills you used to move past lies about 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ identity are the same ones you need to break free from body shame.

“Gender is a binary”
“Only a narrow range of bodies are ‘good’ “
We’ve already rejected the first two.

These traits (and so many more) are unfairly ranked in an invisible hierarchy.
The message? If you don’t measure up, shrink, hide, or apologize.
But you don’t have to accept that.

You never did.
Just like you rejected the idea that love should look one way, you can reject the idea that your body needs to meet a certain standard.
Your worth isn’t up for debate.
