Gonna be straight with yall. You should've been off Twitter a long time ago.
I know alot of yall are artists who have gigantic followings and all that and it's tough to start anew.
But you should absolutely do it. Besides the occasional viral tweet, your reach just isn't truthful.

But I learned my energy online was better spent in places where people could actually feel safe. If someone saw that I moved, they'd follow. And they did.
Honestly, they can have it. Its more energy for them to follow you anyway. And you deserve a space for yourself.
To straight up leave, for many of them, might be the difference between paying rent or not the next month. It's very hard for them, they're in a tough place rn. 😔
But I'd disagree about the engagement part. Just because a few of us can get commissions there, doesn't make it THE place to be.
People will move with us maybe not all at once, but with proper lead-time and with enough communication.
At some point, we have to say enough. The abuse and the shittiness isn't worth it. Our work is more valuable than that place.
I feel it's more: Bluesky doesn't have enough engagement or reach than a cultivated Twitter space does. And I'd say that's true. Hopefully in time as BS grows we can change that and they can move here.
Everyone is engaging differently on Bsky so we won't see the stream of bullshit numbers automatically. We have to work for it more here.
And thats okay, healthier even.
god what a pathetic site
people always say “but i have more reach there”
no you dont
does your reach include altright bots?
if yes, whats wrong with you?
if no, you have no reach on twitter
simple as
Of course that's just reality here in the states. Otherwise it's lightyears better than the bird app.
You get interactions from bots, bigots, and the occasional naive person who doesn't realize they're sitting in shit stew. Your failure to diversify your platforms isn't our problem, but using and therefore supporting a platform for and by nazis is.
Remember that bigger artists who crowdfund see Twitter as their lowest ranking platform for engagement and reach.
Friends, you don't have to continue to suffer on Twitter for meager rations of attention amidst threats from *a proud Nazi*.
I'm lucky.
But I also worked to cut my teeth on this place. I've refrained from showing alot of my TWOM art here too. That says something.
If a dumb, out-of-touch, loudmouth millennial like me can find some traction here, I know yall can too 😊
But uh, even THAT isn't true. The SITE sucks. The algorithms suck. The UI suck. The moderation sucks.
Yknow how much better this place is? Here's one small example.

But you cause yourselves needless suffering just to, and I cant stress this enough, share a space with Nazis *at minimum*.
Not worth the stench, personally 🤷🏿
I've gotten nowhere close to that here on Bluesky but my posts actually do consistently get attention.
Maybe it's just that furry art in general gets more attention but still, It's much
I know I'm exaggerating, but you get my point.
Deleting art, or deactivating an account leaves room for scammers to steal a name and customers. It leaves people without proof that their art is theres.
What do we do in that instance?
Asking for me, since proof that my art is mine is important to me.
A few people I follow had someone snatch their account while they actively used it.
I deactivated my account soon after. Its just not safe.
Ive known artists put in their bios IM NOT ON [site] ANYMORE. You can't stop people from impersonating you. You can only be as loud as possible telling people where you really are.
Dogshit ass site
You participate in a fandom, yeah? I know for a fact the original creator is on here as many are. Customers will go where the sources go. And given time, they'll associate this place with you if you've imcentivized them enough.
It'll be an adjustment, sure. But the more people withdraw, the more followers will realize they don't have much of a reason to stay.
