Do you have a "spark bird" that started your passion for birding and/or photography of birds?
I had started taking photos of a Great Blue Heron in a pond in park across the street. One day, I saw it in a tree and was so enthralled with a picture I captured that I was hooked! #birds

I loved having them around so much. We had as many as 8 at a time on 3-4 feeders since they're so territorial. We even built them a fountain! One male in particular was totally unfazed by my presence and would land on feeders in my hand and buzz my head when I was outside.
my "spark" was an osprey - made me realize that my cell phone camera just wasn't going to cut it
Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles also 'sparked' my curiosity.
I got a bird feeder for my first home of my own, and I noticed that some of the sparrows had tiny red mohawks and seemed different from the House Sparrows I already knew.
The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.

And one Heron in its time plays many parts.

I find Green Herons to be fairly ornery, which is cute. 🤣

Started bringing a camera down my local river, looking for birds. Quickly got addicted to Kingfishers.
Lovely capture.
