In the 1840s, Old St David’s was given a general overhaul; however, a few medieval features survive.
At the western end of the church, there is a diminutive 13th-century font, and the chancel is lit by a couple of 14th-century Early English mullioned windows.

The nave is filled with box pews from the 18th century. The taller boxes at the back of the church are ornamented with fluted engaged columns of the Roman Doric order.

It would seem that much of the Georgian furnishings were subsequently rearranged. The pulpit and reading desk, which now stand on either side of the chancel arch, were most likely part of a triple- or double-decker pulpit that originally stood halfway down one side of the nave.

In the chancel, the altar stands on a three-sided Laudian footpace and is surrounded by early 19th-century altar rails, which are formed of lace-like augmented quatrefoils and narrow cusped lights.

The primary motive for the construction of the new church was the frequent flooding of Old St David’s.

Inside Old St David’s, there is a coracle—a small traditional rounded boat—that was likely used to transport parishioners across the swollen Teifi River.
