First of all, I'm not saying men like that don't exist. But this cartoon doesn't say "some men are lonely because men aren't really taught how to relate emotionally to each other", does it? This cartoon says "lonely men are homophobic idiots who deserve it". This isn't helpful, it's mocking.

It isn't saying all men because only 2 of the 3 men in the comic are like this. To me it shows that some men get in their own way by refusing to be vulnerable with each other because they don't want to look gay or because it feels emasculating to them.

I've definitely seen this.

I have a guy friend and I was like "you should be vulnerable and open with your guy friends" and eventually after 3 years he started doing it and his friends started being open and vulnerable back.

But some absolutely will be. Unfortunately, one of those guys has to be willing to be vulnerable and take that risk first. My friend has known these guys for 10+ years

But I 1000% get why this comic was made because hearing these guys complain and then refuse to take the advice that works!! Is infuriating and exhausting

Plus, the result of this kind of shit is dudes emotionally dumping on women but then not being emotionally there for women back
