We sell something similar in France that says American on it. Next time I'm at the store I'm going to see if it says "fromage" on it. I'll bet it isn't legally allowed.
I haven't been in France since 1969, but back then they really respected the quality of their food. I want to believe they're still holding that line today. But I fear they might be making their crème pâtissière with potato starch instead of egg custard just like everyone else.
Not only are we still holding the line, but we've ended battery farming, hormones for animals, require actual ingredients to be listed as well as a health rating on all food, and much more.
