current best ADHD coping strategy is holding my arm over my head so i dont forget the thing i need to do 30 seconds from now and i find it extremely funny

I had a friend who would raise her fingers to keep track of the number of things she had to say. I started doing it, but frequently forgot what they were anyway. I learned a bit of sign language, so if I know the sign, I’ll hold it. If not, I’ll make the first letter or two with my hands.
So far the only thing that sort of works for me is just making a mental list, numbering the things I need to remember and giving each one a reference. Can't even give an example of the references because they are really random. And it only works with short lists.
