They have directed my committee, the Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicaid, to cut $880 billion. These cuts can only come at the expense of our seniors, kids, and most vulnerable.
What is the total budget for all programs overseen by Energy and Commerce? I am unable to find it. I mean if the total is $1.5T then the math certainly doesn't work for cutting $880B from it and not touching Medicare.
I hope they’re happy, Inam not on Medicaid but worked in health care for years. This hurts innocent people. Everyone on Medicaid isn’t a freeloading drug addict.
When this bill comes to my committee, I will fight to expose the danger these cuts pose to my constituents and all Americans. House Democrats will stand united against these extreme cuts.
Democrats should buy massive national advertisements explaining (simply) that Republicans took their Medicare. Do it now, so it is well known when shit hits the fan in a few months. Otherwise, he'll just blame Biden. Take advantage of the narrative. Put it on the teevee!
